The biggest combined revenue + mental clarity + peace gains for me lately have come through embracing “Essentialism,” which is the disciplined pursuit of LESS.
Less meaningless activity, less busywork, less basically-everything-the-world-tries-to-convince-you-is-important-but-actually-isn’t.
Turns out, that’s almost literally EVERYTHING.
The easy, fast wins here are negative news programs, “friends” that tear you down, tasks that don’t realistically lead to more money going DIRECTLY into your business bank account…
But it’s the “disciplined” pursuit of less because the modern world will never make this easy on you.
I mean, I’ve already read Essentialism, and I’m reading it AGAIN, because I know that I could be doing even better in this area.
Tomorrow on my YouTube channel there’s a video going up about everything I’ve been wrong about recently, what I’m not doing well on, what I’ve struggled with in the past, etc.
It’s important to share stuff like that, because if you’re chronically online, there’s a real danger that you wind up thinking everyone is crushing it ALL the time, when that really isn’t true.
So, me, I want to give you the REAL REAL. I always “sort of” did, but again, like most people, I kept feeling the pressure to show that I was always doing really well and that I always had everything under control.
I don’t.
I mean, there’s plenty in my life that’s going AMAZINGLY well right now, and I’m super grateful. I love sharing wins, and I think that’s important too.
But I don’t believe in hiding losses and mistakes. That’s why I’m being straight-up about the fact that this whole “Essentialism” thing can be really hard for me!
