"Act as If" and You Will BECOME

(Plus, how a "Lamborghini Mindset" added carloads of cash to my bottom line)

I’m about to make a bold move here, and some people will be turned off by it. Most people won’t care, a few will be envious, but the people I’m talking to — and hopefully, I’m talking to YOU — will be inspired by it.

You see, I’ve never earned more than $100k in a single year, but in just 8 short months from now I am going to be selling my Porsche Boxster and buying a Lamborghini Aventador. Now, why should you care at all?

Well in this email I’m going to (briefly) explain how I got to where I am, what set me up to be able to buy the Lambo, and how you can replicate my results.

Let’s start in the middle, right in the center of the action, where I was at my lowest point all year. I didn’t stay there for long.

I’m on pace to hit $10k/month profits in my business by the end of 2023, but at the same time…

It’s been a rough year. I won’t bore you with the details, but even though I’ve read all the Stoicism books — Meditations, On the Shortness of Life, Ego is the Enemy, and even the super rare, ancient ones hardly anyone has heard of! — I find myself angrier than I’ve ever been.

Like, not even my favorite death metal bands, Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse, or Six Feet Under, at full blast, pounding in my ears, can cease the pounding rage I feel in my body sometimes. Am I being dramatic?

I’m probably being too dramatic…

Now, some of what’s happened was my fault (and most of it wasn’t), but it’s still my RESPONSIBILITY to deal with it. To handle it. To take the loss, but not lose the lesson.

At least some good has come out of this whole thing (and I know I’m being vague about the circumstances; suffice it to say I’ve been charged with a crime I didn’t commit, and some other nonsense happened after that), as I’ve started developing something I call:

The “Lamborghini Mindset.”

I know, super original, right?

Anyway, that doesn’t matter. It’s changing my life right now and it could very easily change everything for you too. Is that being too dramatic?

Hardly.

Okay, so what is this “Lamborghini Mindset”?

Put simply, it is the attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and the consciousness of the human being who has transformed himself or herself into the type of person who is able to walk right into a Lamborghini dealership and say to the salesperson, “Yeah, hi. I want THAT one. Here’s my card.”

And then sign the papers and drive away in their new Lambo.

Understand this:

These people exist. They walk among us. You can become one of them. But it’s not going to happen without a RADICAL reimagining of the way you approach life and move through the world.

I’m close, but I’m not there yet. I don’t have the cash yet, that’s part of it.

But I still feel as though I have work to do. Consciousness-raising left to perform. Massive action to take, relentlessly, over and over and over again for the next 8 months until I’m in a position to slide in behind the wheel of MY AVENTADOR and drive off in it.

“Here’s my card.”

A few people have stopped reading by now. And hey, I totally get it. They’re probably saying things like, “Doesn’t he know that won’t make him happy?” And, “Money is the root of all evil!” Or maybe, “He should be grateful for what he has!”

Okay, for one thing, that’s a misquote of the Bible. The Bible actually says that the love of money is the root of all evil. BIG difference.

And I AM grateful for what I have! I AM happy now!

You know, occasional fits of murderous rage notwithstanding. I’m half-kidding, of course. I mean, this current situation is only temporary, and I’m going to come out of it better, stronger, richer, and wiser…and a lot less trusting of cops.

But that’s a story for another day!

The bottom line here is that I am a generally optimistic, happy person, and I know that everything will be fine in the end. If everything’s not yet fine, then it’s not yet the end!

But I want the Lambo because I want it. No justification needed.

I want it, I know I’m going to love driving it, I’m willing to work for it, I’m willing to give everything I have within me for it, and that’s all there is to it! I know it won’t “make me happy” — nothing makes you happy besides you!

And I’m still going to be (mostly) the same person I always was, even if I don’t use my turn signals nearly as often now that I bought my Porsche Boxster last year.

But at the same time, I always tip my bartenders 100%, I’m never rude to wait staff, I treat people kindly, devote my full attention to them when they’re speaking…

None of these things are going to change once I buy my Aventador. MY Aventador!

Man…chills.

It’s purely about the pleasure of driving the thing, and the worthy challenge of becoming the kind of businessperson who is able to afford one! That’s where the Lamborghini Mindset comes in.

Because you have to ask yourself, if you’re going to become that kind of person…

“What do they do with their time?”

“What kinds of books do they read?”

“What are their conversations like?”

“Do they stand up straight, or are they slouched and slumped over their chair?”

“What don’t they tolerate in life?” (That’s a big one right there!)

“How fast do they work? What kinds of tasks do they delegate? What kind of professional development do they undertake on a regular basis?”

“Who ARE these people?!?!”

And then, after you’ve asked yourself these questions, and sat with the answers, you know what you have to do:

You have to do what that kind of person would do!

You have to live as that person, adopt their mannerisms, psychology, and behaviors!

Act as if, in order to become.

That’s a major piece of the formula.

You have to teach yourself that you belong there. And actually, while I’m on the subject, the best scenario is that you (physically) head to where there are Lamborghinis and get used to them.

Touch one if you can, get into one.

Feel yourself — literally — in the driver’s seat.

I took my Boxster on a little road trip to Montreal last summer and that’s exactly what I did. They didn’t have a Lamborghini dealership I don’t think, but there was a Maserati dealership and they had some Lambos in the showroom.

They were right there! I reached out and touched one! Visualized myself sitting behind the wheel eventually. And I honestly believe that made all the difference. Now, I have a reference experience that I can go back to and re-experience whenever the hell I want.

One more point here and then I’ll wrap this up…

My current Porsche is fairly inexpensive in the grand scheme of things, and my Aventador will be like $300,000. About 10x what I paid for my 2002 Boxster. Seriously, my payments are like…nothing. Don’t even have to think about them.

Which is great, compared to those people who overextend themselves on credit and buy some supercar they can’t afford and then stay up all night worrying about whether they’re going to be able to keep it!

The point is that I could have set my sights on a used, 2006 Gallardo instead. And I mean, I love the Lamborghini Gallardo! It’s a sweet car, and I can buy one for about $85,000. But…

You remember those “dumb” little motivational posters they had hung up in your school about “shooting for the moon” and landing among the stars or some other nonsense?

Well, I don’t think the idea behind it is that dumb at all! In fact…

I believe in thinking BIG. No, thinking HUGE, and then backing it up with massive f***ing action, and then even more action, 100X more action than you think it might take to achieve your goals.

Shoot for the Aventador.

Ask that woman out.

Try out for that team.

Take the test for that elite school.

Apply for that job you didn’t think you could get.

Don’t settle.

Develop a Lamborghini Mindset and refuse to think small. Think big, act big, and dream big, and YOU will be bigger than when you started. I promise you.

You will have begun the conscious evolution towards some better version of yourself that you wouldn’t have had access to otherwise.

I mean, sure, could a worse version of you buy a Lambo one day? Probably. There are jerks and losers in Lambos everywhere. But let me ask you…

What could the BEST version of you achieve?

Truly and Honestly: Start developing that Lamborghini Mindset. Shoot for the Aventador, and even if you miss, you might still end up in a Gallardo.

All the best,

Matt Karamazov
