The Content Creation Secret Most Influencers Won't Tell You

I’m not the only person who does this. Many of the bigger creators on Instagram especially do this quite often.

I won’t keep you waiting: it’s reposting content that performed well months ago.

Just last night, I posted an Instagram reel (or should I say RE-posted) that got 422,000 views back in May, and gained me 743 new followers.

May 22nd. September 17th. It’s the exact same reel, except the first one says “After reading 1,285 books in the last ten years,” and the one I posted last night has my updated book count, which is 1,315.

That’s the only change. It’s the exact same reel, it took me about 15 minutes to repost it, and it’s already got 2K views. But isn’t that cheating?

No, not at all!

Look, you should consider reposting your best-performing content from months ago because of three factors:

1) Not all of your old followers saw it the first time.

2) If it’s a valuable post, they could use a reminder. Three months in social media is a lifetime.

3) You gained a bunch of new followers since then who haven’t seen it yet.

On top of that, it saves you time and energy - that you can spend improving the quality of your NEW posts, setting up systems inside your business, etc.

Tonight isn’t the first time I’ve done that, by the way. And I know PLENTY of other creators who do the same thing.

In fact, I have multiple reels on my Instagram that have done more than 1,000,000 views MULTIPLE TIMES.

If it works, it will work again. Repost it. The end.

Today was great! Really settling into a good rhythm for September, even though YouTube has been kind of…I don’t know, I don’t want to say a disappointment, but I had such great ambitions for my channel this month and they haven’t materialized. Completely my fault though, AND my responsibility to fix. So I will be getting ON that! Huge potential there.

Tomorrow I’ve gotta do a ton of writing and scripting, and I’ve also got a few authors that have paid me for book marketing that I have to craft a content strategy for! So lots to do, as per the usual!

But hey, it’s 4:44AM here right now and I’m going to bed!
