Did You Earn Your Sleep Tonight?

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.
I still remember where I was when I read this fitness book by Joe Manganiello called Evolution.
This was back when I was working 12-hour nights as a minimum wage security guard, before I gained the freedom to work 16-hour days for myself :)
I had seldom read about anyone that dedicated to fitness, that passionate about getting the absolute most out of themselves each and every day.
Just his drive to reach peak physical perfection as it pertained to him and his potential…
I loved the book and it really fired me up. To the point where I still remember reading it all these years later and what it did for me.
I also remember one specific line, where he said that we all need to earn our sleep each night.
Earn our sleep each night.
Wow. Yes. This man gets it.
Look, it’s fine if today was a rest day or a day off or whatever, and you didn’t “earn your sleep” tonight. You get a pass.
Productivity is just doing what you intended to do, and so if it was your intention to get some rest today and take in a movie or something - and you did that - then you were perfectly productive.
But if you had shit to do today and you didn’t do it…
How can you honestly say that you’ve earned your sleep that night? You didn’t do anything. You earned nothing, and part of you knows that.
Your subconscious mind is always paying attention to what you say and do. Don’t break promises to yourself and do not let yourself down. EVER.
And be careful what you say to yourself, because there’s someone in the back of your mind listening to everything you say.
All that being said, if you did earn your sleep tonight, I’m proud of you. Sleep well, and let’s get after it tomorrow too.
But that’s it for today.
As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…
I credit the majority of my success and happiness in life to my consistent, unbreakable habit of reading and applying great books.
To help you gain wisdom and strength from the greatest books that have stood the test of time (and use the knowledge contained therein to shape your life according to the way you want to live it), I created the Stairway to Wisdom, my library of expert book breakdowns.
When you become a member of the Stairway to Wisdom, you’ll gain access to more than 120+ such book breakdowns, as well as a premium weekly newsletter that some readers have described as “philosophical espresso shots for the soul.”
Whenever I publish a new breakdown, I always make it free for a couple of weeks, just so people can check it out and see if it’s something they want to begin receiving in their inbox regularly.
Here’s the latest book breakdown inside the Stairway to Wisdom, with links to become a member if that’s something you feel would benefit you:
