You Feel Behind Because You Haven't Prioritized Blank Space in Your Life

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.

I’m not going to lecture you on sleep again, but I got some last night (sleep, I mean), and man did it feel amazing.

All day today I had so much…energy and clarity.

You almost forget how good it feels to be well rested if it’s been a while since you’ve had a decent night’s sleep.

But the most important thing that came of it today was that I was able to take a step back, take in the whole landscape of my business and my life and create some blank space with which to think.

I wasn’t stumbling into doorframes or waking up from unintended naps by spilling coffee on myself - all things I’ve done before in a sleep-deprived state.

I was relaxed, focused, aware, and downright dangerous as a competitor.

Your Competitive Advantage today is to create some blank space in your life and take it all in.

Stop the madness and the rushing and the anxiety and the panic and make room for introspection and deep thought. Consider your life and what you want it to be about.

It’s impossible to do that with iPhone notifications and outrage newscasts and alarms and reminders and tasks…

So just stop.

Stopping, in this case, really IS your Competitive Advantage because hardly anyone else is doing this.

A lot of the people you’re competing against are getting 4 and a half hours of sleep, slamming 3 energy drinks a day, and crashing and burning at 3pm while there’s still work to be done.

But not you.

You’re free to give yourself the gift of clarity and meaningful thought.

To look at what’s not working in your life (and what is) and make a plan of attack. A strategy for getting ahead and getting on top.

You can only do that if you have space.

Me, I forgot what having space was like for the past few weeks, but I’m back, and it feels better than I can remember.

But that’s it for today.

As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…

I credit the majority of my success and happiness in life to my consistent, unbreakable habit of reading and applying great books.

To help you gain wisdom and strength from the greatest books that have stood the test of time (and use the knowledge contained therein to shape your life according to the way you want to live it), I created the Stairway to Wisdom, my library of expert book breakdowns.

When you become a member of the Stairway to Wisdom, you’ll gain access to more than 120+ such book breakdowns, as well as a premium weekly newsletter that some readers have described as “philosophical espresso shots for the soul.”

Whenever I publish a new breakdown, I always make it free for a couple of weeks, just so people can check it out and see if it’s something they want to begin receiving in their inbox regularly.

Here’s the latest book breakdown inside the Stairway to Wisdom, with links to become a member if that’s something you feel would benefit you:

Pretty good day productivity-wise, although I still see room for MAJOR improvements. January has been all about getting ahead on things, and up to date in others, so it’s been pretty hectic.

I have definitely let a few people down this month, which obviously I hate doing, but I’m also doing some other things well.

The only thing to do is keep working.

Until next time…happy reading!

All the best,

Matt Karamazov
