đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.
I was in the same situation that may be familiar to you:
It was time to go to the gym, and I did NOT want to go.
This was a few hours ago, when I was looking ahead to getting underneath that squat bar, and then moving on to leg press…etc.
And I just had no desire to go whatsoever.
Long story short: I went anyway.
Not only did I go, but I added poundage to each of my lifts, really tore my muscles up (in a good way haha), and left the gym feeling ACCOMPLISHED.
This isn’t to say that I’m some hero for getting up off the couch and doing a few barbell squats. Although I do have MASSIVE respect for everyone who does make that choice and decides to enter the gym to become better.
And the weight I’m moving nowadays isn’t even all that impressive. I mean honestly. There are teenagers who squat heavier than I do.
But damn it all, I overcame inertia tonight, I battled through it, I really pushed hard at the gym, and I came home a winner. I showed myself - again - that I could do it. That I am the type of person who follows through on their commitments.
You can give yourself this gift any day you choose.
It doesn’t have to involve weights, although it could. Just tell yourself that you’re going to do something, and then DO IT. Follow through. Show up for yourself. Make yourself proud.
It matters.
Speaking of leg day, I’ll pass along some of what I was listening to during tonight’s workout.
You can skip the first 20 seconds (it has a dumb intro), but Tom Platz had some of the greatest legs in bodybuilding, and videos like that have been a staple in my “media diet” for a long, long time.
If you need motivation, you can find it here.
That’s it for today though.
As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…

Exhausted today, as I predicted yesterday. Sleep continues to elude me. And I almost spelled that as “allude” which is my cue to go to bed.
I’ll be able to get some great (or at least really good) sleep tonight though, which is CRITICAL, because it’s nearing the end of the month and I have a TON of commitments I need to follow through on.
So yeah, now I’m going to bed.
Until next time…happy reading!
All the best,
Matt Karamazov
