I Hope the Aliens Aren't Embarrassed to Look at Us

📚 Hey, good morning! Time to win.

I’m reading a fantastic book right now about the possibilities of there being intelligent life in the universe.

Besides, you know, the small sliver of individuals like us down here who are actually intelligent as well :)

The book is called The Possibility of Life, by Jaime Green and I’m REALLY enjoying it so far. I should finish it tomorrow, making it the 40th book I’ve read this year, and 1,290th ever since I started counting.

Anyway, the reason I bring it up is that I read a really cool passage today where this astronomer is quoted as saying that she hopes there’s someone out there who’s “rooting for us.”

*silent fist pump*

I say: Right on! I hope so too.

Maybe there is, maybe there isn’t (my own opinion is that the universe is just too vast for there to be NOBODY out there, but that aliens aren’t exactly making a habit of frequenting Iowa potato farms haha), but no matter what, I think some fucking galactic PRIDE is called for, don’t you think?

Like, how are we going to allow ourselves to be the embarrassment of the universe and not get our collective shit together before the aliens give up on us?

We’re not so hopeless, I don’t think.

Sure, there are quite a few humans that are just…shitty. I can name dozens of them, and you probably could too.

But damn it, I’m rooting for us too, and I’m not going to give in to this negative, gloom and doom shit that seems so fashionable nowadays.

I don’t have any time for it. I’m too busy winning; making money, reading books and lifting weights; inspiring people to read and get active and make their communities a better place.

I’d like to think that there’s some alien out there silently nodding in approval haha. Okay, maybe I’m too small to be the object of interstellar attention, but all of us together - collectively - are BIG. We MATTER in the galactic scheme of things, and damn it…I’m rooting for us too.

Didn’t make it to the gym today because I’m prioritizing sleep in an effort to get back on track once and for all. Thought it was worth it to get more sleep, and more work done, in exchange for doing a home workout instead of going to the gym. Turns out my pushup game is still strong! Back to the gym on Monday.

Solid day of work today, and I even came up with an idea that could make pitching authors on my services even easier. You may want to adapt/test this in your own business.

I just did a basic risk reversal, whereby they would pay half up front, and the other half if/when they feel (and can measure) that my efforts made a significant difference in book sales.

I haven’t gotten any responses yet from the authors I messaged today (which is normal), but when the answers start coming back I can let you know whether the strategy/risk reversal helps at all. I think it might! It helps them get more comfortable with the investment and then I get a chance to under-promise/overdeliver.

But hey, it’s 4:03AM here right now and I’m going to bed!
