Take a look at the white outline in my YouTube thumbnail right there. I didn’t come up with that, I just saw that it’s working for virtually everyone else in my niche, and so I decided to copy it. Or, well…

I mean, ahem, “test it.” I decided to TEST it.

The video has more views, faster, than some of my previous videos, and I’m thinking now that there must be a reason why so many other book creators on YouTube do something similar. It works in my niche, and so I’m going to keep testing it.

Same with things like minimal cuts (book creators often have videos that are just them, talking, set against a bookshelf).

That wouldn’t work in every niche. Not by a long shot. It might not work in yours.

But SOMETHING works in your niche. There are things that the top creators are doing in all their videos, thumbnails, newsletters, social media posts, etc., that’s getting them all those views that YOU want too.

So…

CORE LESSON: Study what works! Adapt it. Implement it. Test it. Review the results, keep what works for you, discard the rest, and run more tests!

In business news, November will be my highest-earning sponsorship month EVER. Really got some cool things brewing. New sponsors, new affiliate deals, new ad campaigns, etc.
