đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.
Don’t do what I did today. Be smart instead.
As I mentioned last time, today was my podcast interview with Eric Jorgenson, CEO of Scribe Media and author of The Anthology of Balaji, a book about technology and building the future that I cannot recommend highly enough.
It’s absolutely phenomenal, and you can get the book for free here (the digital version at least).
But my mistake happened toward the end of the interview when a decision I made an hour earlier blew up in my face and caused my computer to crash right before we were about to wrap up the episode.
Amateur, amateur move! Gah!
What happened is that I was running my laptop on battery power so that I could plug in my LED lights behind me.
Even when I saw that it was getting low, I still did nothing. I figured we were close enough to the end that we’d get through it without me even mentioning anything.
Well, then my computer crashed…at 4% battery!
I thought I’d have until it got down to 1% and then…
I guess it doesn’t matter. What I can tell you, though, is that it’s a mistake I won’t be making again, and it’s a reminder to be more deliberate in general about taking no chances, and testing everything before it’s too late.
We eventually got things back online, wrapped up the interview (it was a GREAT one), and I’ll be editing the video and then putting it up on YouTube, etc.
And I mentioned this in yesterday’s email but the episode will be going live a week early inside The Competitive Advantage community on Skool, which you can access here.
That’s it for today though.
As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…

Recording a podcast is exhausting! It’s an amazing experience, and I loved today’s conversation, but it really took a lot out of me. Now the real work of editing and transcribing and all that takes place and I hit “publish”!
I’m still behind on a lot of other work, but I’m going to make a big push until the end of the month to make as much progress as possible.
The plan is to get everything updated platform-wise by the end of March: my welcome email sequence, my social media pages, my landing pages, my Skool community, etc.
Then, in April, I’m going to hit my content strategy HARD and pour as much money as I can into paid ads to grow my newsletter and possibly my Twitter. Ads on Twitter are fairly cheap right now, and last time I ran them I got a bunch of new followers and new email subscribers.
So we’ll see about all that. And basically after April, I just keep going! Keep reinventing, keep creating, keep pushing, and make these 2024 goals happen!
Until next time though…happy reading!
All the best,
Matt Karamazov
