How I'm Making $4K Per Month Posting Online About Books

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.
Today I’m going to do a short little breakdown of one of my sales pages, specifically the one I send to authors I want to work with.
This page is for when I pitch them on book marketing, but the same marketing principles can help you, regardless of your niche or product/service.
These are timeless, universal principles.
Being principles, they’re also basic.
You’ve likely heard at least some of these terms and ideas before, but as I keep getting reminded again and again, “advanced people never don’t do the basics.”
Actually, I’m still behind on my testimonials game, even though I know how important they are.
There’s literally no excuse as to why I haven’t been reaching out to more people, asking them to say nice things about me and my work so that I can plaster their kind words all over my sales pages!
Anyway, first up, I do offer quite a bit of social proof, in this case, with photos of other authors I’ve worked with:
I have 18 photos of authors I’ve worked with on previous campaigns, littered throughout this entire sales page.
It’s overwhelming…and that’s the point.
I want there to be NO DOUBT in the readers’ minds that I am an authority in the book marketing space; that I’m an expert; that I’m in-demand.
That’s what these photos and, later, testimonials, all say. They all say:
“This man is trustworthy, because all these OTHER people trust him. Thus, I should buy from him too.”
Next on the page, I’ve got my short little VSL (video sales letter).
It’s not too long, it’s packed with clear detail, and I set some firm expectations about how I conduct business, but it’s also friendly, conversational, and I let authors see the real me. The actual PERSON they might be working with.
You want to add the personal touch wherever possible, and video content is phenomenal for creating trust, and showcasing authenticity and relatability.
The last thing I’ll mention real quick is that there are at least five CTAs (calls to action) scattered throughout the page as well.
In my case, it’s “Contact Me to Discuss Your Book,” and then I give my email address.
No matter where they are on the page, they’re not far from having my contact information close at hand, with a gentle (maybe not so gentle) urging from me to get in touch and get the marketing machine moving!
You want to give people plenty of chances and opportunities to buy from you, to say “yes” - to pull the trigger. Add plenty of CTAs, and make them CLEAR.
Make them UNMISSABLE.
So that’s all for now. Again, this is mostly basic stuff, but you HAVE TO include this stuff in your sales pages if you want them to convert leads into sales.
Again, I have sooo much room to grow here personally.
The backend of my business isn’t nearly as strong as it could be, and I’m literally leaving thousands of dollars on the table by not getting my sales pages updated, testimonials and other social proof added, etc.
But this is a good start, and now I’m moving to my other offers, strengthening those sales pages, and increasing their effectiveness.
Next up is my private mastermind/coaching program on Skool, which has a GARBAGE sales page right now. If I’m being honest! Improving it is definitely high up on the list.
I’m literally just selling memberships using the built-in “About” page, instead of having a dedicated sales page where I sell the membership, then redirect the new members to the group immediately after they pay.
Or at least optimizing that About page with a VSL, testimonials, etc.
Business, however, is an “infinite game,” and tomorrow is another day!
As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…

Today was good, but I CANNOT seem to get to bed at a decent time lately. It’s a failure of discipline, is what it is. I need to do better.
I just…can’t afford to lose out on some of the most productive hours of my day just because I can’t get my shit together to go to the gym at a decent time.
Other than that, though, I’m still pleased with how several things are progressing, business-wise. And I’m still somewhat on track to read 200 books this year.
But again, there ARE things I’ve been dropping the ball on, like updating my Patreon book notes, things like that. Again, once I get my sleep handled, I’ll be in a much better position to start getting on top of everything again.
Until next time…happy reading!
All the best,
Matt Karamazov
