Inbound Leads vs. Outbound Leads - Which is More Profitable?

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.

Can you build a business COMPLETELY based on inbound leads?

How much outbound marketing is required? Isn’t a waste of time?

This is not an either/or proposition.

Both have their place, and it just depends on where you are in your business, how much time you have to devote to it, what kind of brand presence you have, and a few other factors.

At this point, I wouldn't be able to run my business just based on inbound.

I was looking at the last few author promotions I've run on Instagram (one of my main profit sources), and the majority of them have come from my OUT-bound marketing efforts.

Authors who never would have heard of me (much less paid me money) had I not taken the initiative, researched and crafted my pitch, and sent them a polite, professional, personalized email or message.

We're talking thousands of $$$ in revenue here, all because I went out in SEARCH of clients/customers/partners and made the first move.

Now, of course, inbound can be tremendously effective if you have a large enough presence, high trust, great systems, etc.

People definitely message me all the time asking me to promote their book, mention their product, etc.

I say no to almost every single one of them, but I’ve definitely made money from inbound leads. It can happen.

There’s a lot more to say about this (especially since this kind of effective, personalized outreach is one of my strong suits), but I'll just say the following:

DO MORE OUTREACH!!! IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET/IDEAL CLIENTS!!! SEND THEM A MESSAGE!!! GO FIRST!!!

(Sorry for yelling haha)

Sleep Quality: 65%

Workout: OFF

Meant to go the gym today…didn’t go to the gym today. No excuse (like I’d ever offer one), it just is what it is. The tradeoff was “worth it” in that I got a lot organized for tomorrow, made some big leaps forward in my work, got some reading done, etc. But the gym was a casualty of that today. I don’t feel great about it, but in the interest of radical transparency, I have to say that I just didn’t get it done today. Will probably combine legs + shoulders tomorrow though.

Other than skipping the gym, today was a GREAT day and I am FIRED UP about what tomorrow will bring.

Seems like everything’s coming together after a horrible year of being falsely accused of a crime, going through this whole court battle, having the charge dropped, coming back from losing my part time job (which I lost because of the court thing haha).

But all of that is behind me now and I’m in a stronger position now than ever.

I feel GREAT about where I am and where I’m going, but also with how I’m able to help OTHER people get where THEY’RE going. It just feels like I’m in the perfect spot and the future is wide open for all of us.

But hey, it’s 3:12AM here right now and I’m going to bed!

All the best,

Matt Karamazov
