I Made $600 Today Because I Asked For It

📚 Hey, good morning! Time to win.

There’s no magic in it. I just went for it, that’s it.

I asked. And then I received.

Today, I closed another deal with an author to promote their book on my Instagram - a great book, by an author I’m really excited to work with.

But it all happened because of a cold DM I sent on Instagram maybe a month and a half ago.

I saw his book mentioned on another Instagram page that offers paid reviews, it looked really good, I sent the author a message, and he sent me a review copy of the book.

I then read it, took notes, and then asked if he wanted to pay for my marketing services.

That’s literally it. That’s the story. It’s not exactly War and Peace or anything, but that’s basically how it happened.

I reached out and asked for what I wanted, I made an effort, and then I received it. It’s not magic, except…it kind of is.

But it’s magic that we’re all capable of. Including you.

As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…

Workout: OFF

Turns out all the gyms closed early today for Good Friday and I wasn’t on top of it enough to find out WHEN they were closing. So by the time my podcast interview wrapped up, I had like 45 minutes to get to the gym…10 minutes away. So no, I didn’t work out today. AGAIN. But same deal as yesterday: I’ll just move my shoulder workout to tomorrow, my arm workout to the day after that, and then take my planned two weeks off from serious lifting.

Recorded Podcast Interview with Joshua Lisec

I don’t know why recording podcasts always tires me out, but recording the episode today just wiped me OUT. Maybe because I have so many things going on in my mind at the same time as I’m recording: what my next question is going to be, listening to the CURRENT answer, hoping I don’t sound stupid, keeping track of various NEW things I want to mention that come up in conversation, etc.

It’s tiring, man! It really does take a lot out of you. But Joshua Lisec is a real pro, and I had a lot of fun chatting with him about how to take over the internet.

Attention is the new currency, and if you want to make an IMPACT today, you have to be online, and you have to have a solid PRESENCE online. You need VISIBILITY. Today, being ignored is death.

And it just so happens that Joshua knows quite a lot about how to court attention (both positive and negative) and we really did have a great talk.

The episode is coming out after the Eric Jorgenson one, which I’m working on now. For the week after it’s published it will be available EXCLUSIVELY for members of The Competitive Advantage community.

Then I’ll be releasing it on YouTube after that. But I’ll be sure to let you know about both.

And until next time…happy reading!

All the best,

Matt Karamazov
