My Monthly Review Framework (Try It Out for Yourself!)
YOUTUBE 📚 THE READING LIFE 📚 PATREON
Are you running your business on incomplete numbers?
Most small business owners have financials, but few have financial clarity. There's a real difference between books that are technically up to date and books that actually tell you what's going on in your business right now. When accounting is reactive — updated when there's time, reviewed at tax season — you lose visibility exactly when you need it most. You can't tell which clients are truly profitable. You can't spot a cash flow gap before it becomes a crisis. BELAY's outsourced accounting team changes that.
“Naturally, the 80 percent diligently obeying all the rules made for them and by them despise the 20 percent who defy some of the rules and the 1 to 5 percent who defy ALL the rules and get extraordinary, exceptional, infinitely better results.
If you listen to and conform to the 80 percent, you will be one of them. Here, I’m showing you how the top 1 percent to 5 percent think and act very, very differently, and get very, very different results.”
The Book of the Month inside Wealth Creators for May is No B.S. Guide to Succeeding in Business by Breaking All the Rules, by Dan S. Kennedy. We’re taking one nonfiction book per month, and relentlessly applying it to our businesses. Join us.
🏅 Welcome Back to The Wealthy Creator!
I just completed my Monthly Review for May, 2026.
There were a tremendous number of things that went right this month, and when you zoom out, you can see that more clearly.
You lift yourself above all the day-to-day fires (and on some days, infernos) and you can see the good things that are happening that aren’t immediately obvious from your daily perspective.
I've been keeping in mind some wise words from Mitesh Jani, author of The Process: The Six Mechanics of Achievement:
"Don't trust, the process. TRACK the process."
I'm a tracker. That's who I am. I mean, I've been keeping detailed notes from every single book I've read since 2014 (getting close to 1,500 books now!).
So tracking comes naturally to me, but I've always found it tremendously useful!
In my Monthly Review, I track a few things:
*Life and Business Satisfaction Scores
*Life and Business Simplification Scores
*My Current Key Business Constraint
*My #1 Priority for the Next Month
*Things That Went Really Well
*Things That Maybe Didn't Go So Well
*Things to Keep Doing
*Things to Stop Doing
*Things to Maybe Try in the Future
It doesn't take me long, but I've gained TREMENDOUS clarity by doing a Monthly Review.
There's a bit more that goes into mine, and yours will naturally look a bit different, but I highly recommend doing one yourself! I can also recommend Jani’s book, The Process.

After achieving my (somewhat meaningless) goal of reading 1,000 books before I turned 30, I set a new (also meaningless but cool) goal of reading 10,000 books. As of today, I’ve read exactly 1,496 books, including 42 books so far this year, and if you’re interested, here’s my full Reading List.
It's Monday. Every department already has context. Nobody prepped anything.
Your CFO opens Slack. There's a weekly Stripe revenue recap in #finance with a churned-accounts flag and a net-new breakdown. She didn't ask for it.
Your head of product opens Slack. There's a GitHub summary in private channel: PRs merged, PRs stale, Linear tickets that moved. He didn't ask for it.
Your marketing lead opens Slack. There's a Google Ads performance comparison in private channel, with a note: "Meta CPA crept up 18% this week. Might be worth pausing the broad match campaign." She didn't ask for it either.
All-hands at 10am. Everyone already knows the numbers. The meeting is about decisions, not catch-up.
That's what happens when one colleague works across every tool your company uses. Not one department's assistant. The whole company's coworker.
Viktor lives in Slack. Top 5 on Product Hunt, 130 comments. SOC 2 certified. Your data never trains models.
"Not only have we caught up on several months of work, we are automating manual tasks and expanding our operations to things previously not possible at scale." - Jesse Guarino, Director, Torque King 4x4

I thought LAST month was crazy - damn. I have sooo much going on this month it’s insane. Mostly good stuff (though I have some pretty heavy deadlines bearing down on me), but this is going to be a MASSIVE month for my business.
The focus for the next few days and weeks is getting those first four classic novel Introductions written, and then the final two, and that’s a TON of work. But at the end of it I’ll have my name on the front of a published book! And gotten paid to read books all day. So that’s pretty cool!
Anyway, I’m going to get to bed. Thanks for being here, and we’ll talk soon!
All the best,
Matt Karamazov
