Never Put Up a Zero

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.
Very strange, unproductive, yet interesting day today.
I almost put up a zero, by which I mean I wasted a whole day in a fog due to lack of sleep and lack of priorities, before cleaning up my act towards the end of the day and salvaging it from nothingness.
It was partly my fault and partly not, but because I take complete and total responsibility for EVERYTHING - even those things that aren’t strictly my “fault” - I still had to deal with it.
I had to choose whether I was going to just give up an entire day or if I was going to do SOMETHING to move me forward, to keep up my momentum, however slight.
Having to wake up early for phone calls with people halfway around the world is something I’ve now learned that I hate.
It literally fucked up my whole day (because I let it), and instead of going back to BED for a few hours, which would have been the sensible thing to do, I thought I would just tough it out…and we both know how that worked out.
I thought that going back to sleep would mean “wasting” my whole day, but I should have known better.
It would have cut into my productivity a little bit, sure.
But it also would have meant that the quality of my hours later were vastly improved, and I would have gotten a lot more done.
Having this self-awareness is key.
I now have this literally written down in my “Self Observations” document (which I’m highly recommending you keep for yourself, to learn more about yourself and make better decisions) and now I can look back and see, from experience, what happened in this particular situation and what I should do if I ever find myself in this spot again.
Today…wasn’t great. Admitting this to you is also quite painful, as I HATE to let people see me wasting time and not being world-class at what I do.
Not ACTING in alignment with what I tell my personal coaching clients to do.
But it’s the truth, and knowing that I’ll have to share the results of my day to everyone on this email list motivates me never to put up a zero.
As always, at the bottom of this email I’ll lay out everything I did today to move closer to my Ultimate Vision. This is to keep me accountable and to show you that I’m working as hard as I’m encouraging you to work…

Woke Up: 07:00AM (NEVER again)
Sleep Quality: (I don’t even know, I didn’t track it)

Workout: OFF DAY
Should have been legs today, but I passed out at 11pm, woke up at 4am, and decided that messing up my sleep schedule even more would be stupid. I’ll also probably do legs tomorrow with a BIT of shoulders, as my left bicep is still troubling me a little bit and it’s probably best to give it as much rest as possible.

As I’ve said, today left a lot to be desired. I don’t feel great about what I’ve done, and it’s not because I feel some sort of “productivity guilt” or whatever, it’s because I didn’t do what I set out to do, and I fucking HATE that.
I hate it so much that I it makes me feel terrible when I don’t follow through. But tomorrow is another day, and I don’t plan to put up a fucking zero TOMORROW either.
Until next time…happy reading!
All the best,
Matt Karamazov
