One of My Biggest L's of the Month

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.

I just had one of the biggest L’s of the entire month and I’m not entirely comfortable with sharing it.

But I will anyway, because that’s the kind of accountability I want to inspire in people, and I also want to share why it’s important to bounce back FAST.

In the grand scheme of things, this L was almost literally nothing.

I posted this giant Twitter thread about the “34 Books Donald Trump Should Read in Prison” (it wasn’t a political post, I just tried to ride the trend), and it TOTALLY FLOPPED.

It got ONE LIKE…and this is the most embarrassing part:

The one like was from ME haha.

I liked my own post, and I’m the only one who did. With 7,600 followers. 1 like.

And I spent a good 2 hours or more, creating all the graphics, writing up all the book descriptions…1 like! It’s sitting at around 460 views right now, which is also pretty terrible.

Again, grand scheme of things, it means nothing.

But it was quite deflating, and one of the only bright spots is how quickly I was able to bounce back.

I was more than a little bit upset after I shifted my whole evening plans around to capitalize on what I thought would be this trending post that could rack up a bunch of views by weighing in on the controversy and it got totally ignored.

But Twitter likes don’t put food on my table, they don’t pay for my books, and they don’t put gas in my car. Likes are not CASH.

So I spent a few hours (which I kinda enjoyed) crafting this post that hardly anybody saw.

But I also got to refresh my memory about 34 great books, I can easily repurpose it into a Medium article and see if THAT does better…there are a bunch of ways I can turn this L into at least a partial W.

The one thing I CANNOT do, however, is throw good time after bad, obsessing over what might have been, or beating myself up for not getting more…what, likes on some APP?

There have been some other Ls this month, and some Big Ws, but if that’s one of the biggest Ls, I guess that’s not so bad.

Also, some “pity likes” are accepted here haha.
