Setting Goals Deprives You of Free Will

đź“š Hey, good morning! Time to win.
Having goals automatically removes your free will and makes many of your choices irrelevant.
If you want to achieve the goal, that is.
If you don’t care about achieving your goal, then fine, break promises to yourself, get drunk 4 nights a week, “wing it.” It won’t make a difference.
But once you’ve set yourself a task - a goal, mission, or VISION that you want to achieve and make real - you no longer have choices or free will. All that remains is what is left to be done.
All that’s left is that boring, arduous task right in front of you. Or that next brutal set of deadlifts. Or that salad that’s blocking your view of the ice cream in your fridge.
You don’t have a choice.
Complete the task. Lift that weight off the ground. Eat that salad.
Choice is now irrelevant.
Of course, you have a choice to set goals or not. No one’s going to force you to become more, to stretch beyond yourself and become GREAT.
Quite the opposite, actually.
Society doesn’t want you to change. If society were a person, they’d want you broke, unhealthy, stressed out, “entertained” - completely dependent on handouts and your “official opinion” delivered to you whenever you need it.
Which leads you to the Fundamental Choice:
Do you want to be GREAT? Or do you want to be “free”?

Really, really inspiring day today in a lot of ways. Had this great video call with a 7-figure business owner named Avery who is just a GREAT guy - super impressed with his whole team.
I actually didn’t get as much done today as I wanted to, and that has to do with the schedule I’m keeping now - or NOT keeping, as it were.
I keep talking about “not having a choice” when it comes to your goals, and I mean that, but I also know when I’m in danger of not living up to message, and I know that I need to start getting a jump on the day and making use of these productive morning hours.
Speaking of which…I’m going to bed. Up earlier today, attacking the task list and the goals list, and let’s make some big things happen before the end of the month!
