As I get closer to buying my 2017 Lamborghini Huracan, I’m being forced to eliminate everything that’s NOT taking me there.
The bad habits, the late nights…the perfectionism. That’s the big one for me.
Maybe you struggle with it sometimes too.
No shame in it. I’ve actually come up with a couple ways to battle it, foremost among them being adopting the willingness to ship work that isn’t perfect.
There are probably spelling mistakes in this email, and this certainly isn’t a perfect YouTube video (7 books I’m going to finish before this year is finished with me).
But it’s out htere, it’s getting views. Gaining me subscribers. It’s good enough, it’s off my plate, and now I’ve moved on to something else that’s relatively high leverage: sending The Competitive Advantage email that you’re reading right now.
One thing I like gto do is intentiuonally publish stuff with a few mistakes in it, to ashow myself that’s it’s not the end of the world.
Hit send without spell checking. Turn off Grammarly and just go with it. Write from the heart. Be useful. Help your followers achieve the result you said you’d help them achieve. And just keep showing up.

Major milestone hit today. 10,000 subscribers of The Reading Life! Way cool. Reading The Science of Scaling, by Benjamin Hardy has me setting higher and more “impossible” goals, so I may increase my goal to 50,000 subscribers by the end of April. Very possible, especially with all the money I’m funneling into Facebook ads and Beehiiv Growth Boosts, etc. More on that soon.
But eh, I’m gonna go read for a bit before bed, and I’ll talk to you soon!
