Actually, I should just say welcome to The Wealthy Creator, because I’ve done a little bit of a rebrand since I sent the last newsletter.
It used to be called The Competitive Advantage, and my Skool community for educational entrepreneurs used to be called Creator Launch Academy.
So if you’re not sure why you’re getting this email, it’s because I changed the name, and it’s also been more than a month since I sent the last issue.
My other newsletter, The Reading Life, has been active this whole time, but I wasn’t quite sure what the future of this one would be - until now.
All that is to say that, if you’re not interested in these emails anymore, no worries! I’ll be sorry to see you go, but unsubscribe if you must! No hard feelings here whatsoever.
But now that’s out of the way, let’s get into it…
The Book of the Month for May is Deep Work, by Cal Newport, and I know for a fact that if you make Deep Work (the book and the practice) a key part of your creative process, you're not only going to get a lot more done, but you're also going to start producing better work, with less stress.
But first, a definition:
Deep Work: “Professional activities performed in a state of distraction-free concentration that push your cognitive capacities to their limit. These efforts create new value, improve your skill, and are hard to replicate.”
"Distraction-free concentration" is what I'm zeroing in on these days, and it's made my life/work demonstrably better recently.
I've been on a "clearing and simplifying" kick recently, where I've been unsubscribing, unfollowing, discarding, abandoning, deleting, removing, cutting, delegating, eliminating...you name it, I'm getting rid of it, and I can't tell you the mental freedom and peace (not to mention productivity) it's given me.
So yeah, I had to make this the Book of the Month.
Even just a few days ago I cleared more than a THOUSAND emails from my inbox, organized several of my YouTube playlists, organized my system folders, deleted a ton of other random documents and photos, etc. It's just been wild how much stuff has built up around my life! No doubt it's the same for you.
The idea behind Deep Work is incredibly simple, but it does take some getting used to, and some prep work, not to mention motivation to keep going, and reminders that it's working. It'll take more than a month to get your Deep Work system locked in, but the time is going to pass anyway, so you may as well get started now!!

I’m glad to be back! Like I explained above, I went through a rebrand, I was busy clearing a ton of digital clutter, organizing and updating my systems, etc. Plus my dad spent about 3 weeks in the hospital, so I was doing a fair amount of that work from his bedside - but I got it done! And he’s doing a lot better now :)
The Wealthy Creator is going to be a more regular thing, even though I haven’t decided on exactly the right cadence. Daily? 3X per week? 5X per week?
But whatever I decide, I’m going to be sharing EVERYTHING about how I’m growing my revenue month over month, how I’m gaining thousands of new followers on social media, and how I’m absolutely f***ing dominating my biggest goals.
I’m sharing all this to help YOU achieve whatever you’re gunning for too. There are too many gatekeepers and charlatans out there, too few people building real businesses, making real money, and making a real difference. Welcome!
