I’ve spent hundreds of Saturday nights in bars, and I don’t regret it one bit. I haven’t seen the inside of a bar on a Saturday for about a year or more, but it’s not because I’m getting older. I still love that whole scene (and I’ll make an appearance there every so often), but I love BUILDING stuff even more.

You know, like a business that pays me to read books and talk about them all day.

That’s how I’ve been spending all these Saturdays (and Sundays, and Mondays, and Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and Fridays): building.

Because although life is meant to be lived and enjoyed (and especially with friends), I know too many people who spend hundreds of dollars every night, 8-12 nights per month, essentially pouring their money down the drain, and making themselves literally sick for days just because they choose to get drunk every weekend.

Me, I was there because it was my job. I don’t need alcohol to have a good time, but I needed that job to teach me social skills, listening skills, dating skills, etc. And when the bar was slow, I’d spend a lot of time reading books on my phone too!

I made all those hours count. I didn’t waste them.

Obviously, I’m not “anti-alcohol” or anything like that. I’m not a big drinker myself, but I also don’t judge.

All I’m saying is that the rich, freedom-loving entrepreneurs I hang around with all week aren’t showing up to the club at midnight after pre-drinks, then stumbling into cabs at 4AM before passing out in a foggy haze that won’t lift until Monday.

We have work to do. We have online empires to build, and there’s no one that’s going to do it unless we do. The weekend is half over. But you have today. You have next weekend. And you have the rest of your life.

Today was great! Nearly a perfect Saturday, and I feel incredible about what I managed to get done today/set up for tomorrow. Sunday’s going to be SOLID.

Reorganizing my workflow showed me that I have a LOT more work left to do than I even though I did, but I do feel so much better having it all laid out, and divided into actionable steps, concrete project schedules, etc. Really helps a lot mentally.

Tomorrow is going to be about setting up a winning week: getting ahead on YouTube videos, Medium articles, and newsletters, etc. Plus diving right into my Week Three goals.

But hey, it’s 3:33AM here right now and I’m going to bed!
