Check out this view chart. Nothing was happening for at least the first 78 days, before it rocketed up to 2,000 views, virtually overnight.
From there, over the course of ~150 days, it gained an additional 4,000 views, and it's now hovering around 6,000 total views:
Not massive, whatsoever, compared to the biggest YouTubers in the personal development niche (some creators, if their video got 6k views they'd see that as a colossal failure), but much better than anyone would predict just looking at the stats over the first 78 days.
So was the video a failure for those 78 days? Or did the success just take 79+ days to appear?
REMEMBER THIS: Every new YouTube video that you actually publish is either a victory, or a lesson. Sometimes, a video is a winner without showing any visible signs that it is one. Give it time. And while you’re waiting, publish your next video too.

I actually didn’t get as much done today as I intended, which never feels good, but I like the new direction with respect to YouTube. Way more value content, in-depth book summaries, reviews, and deep dives, focusing more on education than virality. Lots more to say about this, but it’s a great lesson: not every video topic has the potential to get the same number of views. It’s all about supply and demand.
Anyway, besides that, I’m prepping for my Boston trip next month, getting ahead on content creation, and finishing up a few of the books I have on the go. Busy busy, but progress is being made!
And always remember: even if no one else believes in you…I do.
